D1WA DRIFT STATE CHAMPIONSHIP 2023 RND 5 – THE GRAND FINALE!

Carco.com.au will see D1WA holding Round 5 (The final instalment) of the 2023 Drifting State Championship on Sunday the 20th of AUGUST.
The approved tyre for the 2023 championship is any tyre with a maximum width of 265mm.
In addition to our normal vehicle and driver requirements, you will be required to wear (at a minimum) a SINGLE LAYER SFI RACE SUIT. This is an insurance requirement, If you do not have one, please contact Luxe Performance, Go Gear racing or any other reputable racewear supplier.

We are aiming to let our drivers have 3 hours of open practice, drivers will then complete 2 x qualifying runs to secure their place in the Top 32.
Traditional top 32 knock out battle style format for positions in Top 16.

The Top 16 competition will be the traditional knock-out style to crown the winner.

12.45pm Battles begin Traditional Top 32 style format
Top 16 Battles begin approx 1.45pm
Top 8 Battles begin approx 2.30pm
Top 4 followed by Presentations approx 3.15pm
(If time permits) Expression session & Passengers 3.30pm

This is an AASA licensed event, you need one of the following: AASA Licence (General Speed OR Day Licence) https://aasa.com.au/licences/ 

Spectators $10, kids 12 & under are free!

SCRUTINEERING: Fake/non-compliant harness will be the most important part of the car being checked by scrutineers at this event. All genuine harnesses have a hologram on the left shoulder strap and are still passable 5 years past the FIA expiry date. If you did not buy your harnesses brand new from a genuine race shop or have any doubts, please send photos to us before the event and we will let you know if they will pass.
Basic vehicle requirements are as follows; Fire extinguisher within drivers reach, no hot liquid in cabin), seat firmly mounted, rubbers on pedals, no steering slop, fuel cells must be correctly sealed, battery mounted securely and positive terminal covered, no holes in front and rear firewalls, catch can secure and of adequate volume. Glass headlights need to be covered/taped, tail and brake lights working, tow points accessible (please ensure it is clear and easy for our recovery vehicle to hook on to your tow points otherwise your car may get damaged!), bonnet has 2 forms of latching, exhaust secure and exits in correct place, no body damage that would cause a risk to safety.

RACE NUMBERS: All D1WA events require YELLOW race numbers to be displayed on the front upper passenger side of the windscreen (yellow sticker 180mm high). If you have not been allocated a number, please email or message the Facebook page with a list of numbers you would like. Most numbers below 300 are taken so please send a large list in order of preference, after your number is locked in you can get one made yourself to our specs or we sell them for $10 on the day
